GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Some candidates are digging into their own pockets this election season. Democrat Aaron Woolf has devoted over $400,000 in his race against Republican Elise Stefanik for a U.S. House seat in northern New York. Hudson Valley Republican Nan Hayworth has contributed over $600,000 to help regain the seat she lost to Democrat U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

WATERLOO, N.Y. (AP) - A man imprisoned in New York for killing his son to collect on his life insurance is now charged with murdering his first wife in 1991 for the same reason. NEW YORK (AP) - The death of a drugged, emotionally disturbed man restrained by New York City police near St. Patrick's Cathedral has been ruled a homicide.
