FREEPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino continues to blast Governor Andrew Cuomo over reports his administration meddled in the work of an anti-corruption commission. Astorino wants a special state prosecutor to review the allegations. U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has said federal prosecutors will continue the panel's unfinished work.

FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (AP) - A western New York man who killed his family and a neighbor in 1985 is suing the state over authorities' efforts to keep him in prison when his sentence ends next year. The (Glens Falls) Post-Star reports John Justice claims the state is violating his constitutional rights. State lawyers say Justice is mentally unfit for release.

POMPEY, N.Y. (AP) - A Manlius resident has been arrested over a graduation party that police say grew so big and rowdy they had to bring in a helicopter to break it up. Gregory York was arrested after his mother decided to press charges. Police arrived at the July 3 party to find 200 cars parked along a street and as many as 700 people in a large outdoor bash.

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) - A ceremony is planned today at Fort Drum for the base's newly renovated and expanded main chapel. The chapel got $7 million of work, expanding the sanctuary and adding a religious education wing and other space.
