Timofey Mozgov had 17 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in another superb effort by the Denver bench. Joe Johnson scored 22 points for the Nets, who still haven't won consecutive games this season.
NEW YORK (AP) - The Brooklyn Nets have shaken up their coaching staff, reassigning top assistant Lawrence Frank to a non-bench role. Head coach Jason Kidd says Frank will not be at practices or games, and that he will be writing daily reports. He says the two had "different philosophies."
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Orlando Magic 126-125 in double-overtime last night. Michael Carter-Williams had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double, and Thaddeus Young added 25 points and 12 rebounds. Evan Turner had 24 points for Philadelphia, which snapped a four-game losing streak.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - The New York Jets have placed kick returner-wide receiver Josh Cribbs on injured reserve and signed former Tennessee kick returner Darius Reynaud to replace him. Cribbs injured his right shoulder in the Jets' 23-3 loss to Miami on Sunday.
NEW YORK (AP) - A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that the New York Yankees have reached agreement with outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury on a seven-year contract worth about $153 million. Ellsbury helped the Boston Red Sox win the World Series this year.
NEW YORK (AP) - All-Star catcher Brian McCann has completed his $85 million, five-year contract with the New York Yankees. He is set to be formally introduced at a news conference tomorrow at Yankee Stadium. McCann receives $17 million in each of the next five seasons, and the Yankees have a $15 million option for 2019 with no buyout.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have traded catcher Erik Kratz and left-hander Rob Rasmussen to the Toronto Blue Jays for righty Brad Lincoln. Kratz hit .213 with nine home runs and 26 RBIs in 68 games last season. Lincoln was 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 22 games for Toronto.
