Mass for millennials

St. Patrick's Old Cathedral on Mulberry Street in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood recently celebrated its 200th anniversary and was featured in the "Godfather" films.

But the church has become notable for something else: The congregation is made up largely of millennials, with 50 percent between the ages of 18 and 34.

The homilies now include pop culture and other subjects relevant to a younger generation. The church hosts and after-Mass gathering following the 7 p.m. Sunday Mass where the hip crowd drinks wine and mingles.
