The movie of the real "Rocky" is finally being made.

Chuck Wepner, the born and bred Jersey fighter from Bayonne whom the movie Rocky is based off of, is finally getting a movie based on his life- and it is going to be a blockbuster.

"The Bleeder" is a new movie currently in production based on famous New Jersey heavyweight boxing champion Chuck Wepner, also known as "The Bayonne Bleeder.'

It stars Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, who plays Linda Wepner, Chuck's wife.

“It’s going to be very well done, I think. From what I’ve seen, the scenes their shooting it’s very well done, and they actually got me into this movie which I absolutely said I didn’t want to get into,” Wepner said.

Chaunce Hayden, publisher of the magazine Metropolis Nights, gave some insight on what we might expect in the upcoming film starting with Chuck's early life.  "He was bouncing at a strip club and a boxing promoter found him there and offered him a chance to fight in the ring."

Chuck took on the challenge and the rest is history.

“Icon, yeah icon. Not only is he a New Jersey Legend but he’s a global legend,” Hayden said.

The movie will highlight the ups and downs of the boxing champ, including his bout in the ring with Muhammad Ali and the infamous naked pool party.

The film is slated to come out next winter.
