Emergency responder dies

The quiet borough of Andover in northern New Jersey is mourning the loss of local hero and loving father, EMS first responder Capt. Eskil "Scott" Danielson.

Danielson, 49, died Saturday after he responded the scene of a car accident involving his daughter. At the scene he reported pains in his back and was taken to a local hospital where he reportedly suffered a heart attack and later died.

Danielson was a lifelong community servant. At the Lakeland firehouse where he volunteered, the flags hung at half staff. "Hhe was very dedicated to the community and to the rescue squad," Andover John Morgan said.

Calling hours were scheduled for Wednesday and a funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m.
