Mail carrier attacked by turkey

Hillsdale, New Jersey has some unwelcome visitors: wild turkeys.  The foul flock caused a problem last Tuesday when they attacked a mailman on Esplanade Drive. They surrounded his truck leaving him trapped and panicked with no choice but to call for help.

In a 911 call released to Chasing News the police were alerted: "This is the postmaster in Hillsdale.  You're not gonna believe this, but I've got a carrier that's being attacked by wild turkeys."

Police responded but as they approached the fowl foes fled. The letter carrier was able to complete his duty and finish the route.

The Humane Society recommends that citizens not feed the turkeys and if they come into your yard to wave your arms and make distracting noises to shoo them away.
