Manhattan burial plots list for $350,000

NEW YORK (MY9NJ) - The New York Marble Cemetery is one of the oldest burial grounds in New York City, and now, for $350,000, you can reserve one of two remaining in-ground spots available in all of Manhattan.

The small burial ground is in Manhattan's East Village and is sometimes called the Second Avenue Cemetery.  Caroline DuBois, the president of the cemetery's board of trustees, said she envisions someone very connected to New York purchasing the plots, like a Wall Street executive or a hedge fund manager.

"It's a beautiful hidden oasis," DuBois says.

The half-arce cemetery opened in 1830.  It has more than 2,000 interments in bolow ground vaults and is only occasionally open to visitors.  It is available for rentals for parties and even weddings.

The graveyard has 156 underground vaults that were all purchased long ago.  But two of them sat empty for so long they were reclaimed by the cemetery's board and are up for sale.
