Police honor 8-year-old who paid for officer's meal
Eight-year-old Mikayla Raji's decision to pay a police officer's dinner tab at Villa Borghese in Helmetta, N.J. last month made headlines.
Mikayla and Jamesburg police officer Joseph Quinn reunited at Mikayla's home in Monroe.
"When I went to go pay my tab, I was told that it was paid forward. ... We did some detective work at police headquarters, I was advised who paid for the tab. ... it was special," Quinn said.
It turns out that Mikayla's father, Thomas Raji, was a Perth Amboy police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
The Jamesburg Police Department was so impressed by Mikayla's act of kindness, that they set up a GoFundMe page for her to fund her college education. So far, they're raised more than $13,000.
