LOS ANGELES, CA - Let’s talk about sex baby! As great as sex can be.. It doesn’t come without its own set of fears, anxieties, and insecurities. But what are people’s top fears when it comes to S-E-X? Unsurprisingly the top two fears were fear of sexually transmitted Infections or unplanned pregnancy.
While both men and women feared the consequences of sex, one of the main concerns among women was consent. The fifth-greatest fear for women was that a partner wouldn't take "no" for an answer; the sixth-greatest was that a partner would want to do something the woman wasn't comfortable with.
Most women also reported body insecurities as a top fear. The fear that their partner would not find them attractive naked or that embarrassing bodily functions would happen. Besides the serious consequences we mentioned earlier, men’s top sex fears were: inability to “perform”, not satisfying their partner, or… how should we say this… leaving the party a little too soon?
As the survey says, sex can be stressful for both parties. But it should be an enjoyable, positive, and healthy experience. And while some anxieties are unavoidable, keep the lines of communication open with your partner and there should be smooth sailing from here on out. Be safe out there, you crazy kids!
