Elon Musk's Boring Company makes its first LA tunnel

Elon Musk has broken ground on his new Boring Company tunnel venture.

Musk envisions a day when Los Angeles streets aren’t congested with traffic because the traffic has moved to a series of underground high speed tunnels. 

For instance Musk says going from Westwood in Los Angeles to LAX would take just five minutes in his tunnel. That drive can take 45 minutes if you go at rush hour.

 

But first Musk is starting small with this 500 foot long pedestrian tunnel on the SpaceX campus. Engadget says it should be up and running next week.
