WATCH: What dangers are lurking in your public pool this summer?

- Summer is upon us and that means one thing: escaping the heat! But what dangers lurk in your local public pool? The CDC just released a report stating that 80% of public swimming pools, lazy rivers, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds had at least one public health violation this year.

One in eight venues resulted in immediate closure for failing routine inspection. Kiddie pools and wading pools were most severe, with one in five closed to violations. Twelve percent of routine inspections found safety equipment violations that could be considered a drowning risk. Incorrect PH, safety equipment issues, and unsuitable disinfectant concentration were the most common safety violations found.
