Some NYC residents are concerned now more than ever about their safety after a new ISIS video was released threatening attacks in the Big Apple.

On Wednesday, a Syrian community leader in Brooklyn told the New York Post "ISIS is already here."

Community Councilman Arafat "Ralph" Succar told the New York Post "he believes there are ISIS sleeper cells in America already."

Succar, born in Syria, moved to the United States when he was 10.

He said the paperwork process in his native country is highly corrupt, and believes ISIS terrorists have "'absolutely" sneaked into America posing as civil war refugees since fake identifications papers are easily obtained in his birth country.

Because of the huge debate regarding refugees coming to New York, coming to America, Chasing News decided to speak to an expert to find out how seriously we need to take this threat from ISIS and how seriously we need to take the refugees crisis.

“There’s no question that it’s a risk. So anytime we have anyone in our country and we don’t know their backgrounds, we don’t know where they currently are, it creates an issue for our safety. There are people in our country right now that we don’t know that they’re here, we don’t know who they are, we don’t know where they are, and we don’t know what their intentions are,” Terrorism expert, Bob Strang said.
