Man Arrested for Stealing Knights Mascot Costume

A North Carolina man was arrested after police say he broke into BB&T ballpark and stole the Charlotte Knights Homer the Dragon mascot costume. It happened after Charlotte beerfest in late September.

Police say Joseph Gillespie was wearing the costume when he fled the scene. He was arrested at his Indian Trail, NC home, where the $6,000 costume was recovered.

Gillespie was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana by the Union County Sherriffs Office.
