Woman tries to kidnap child at mall

- Police on Long Island have released photos of a woman wanted in the attempted kidnapping of a child at a mall.

Nassau County police say it happened Friday morning at the Kohl's store at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.

A woman took her 1-year-old child into the first floor restroom.  Police say as the woman was tending to the child, a female entered the restroom and said, "That is a beautiful baby".  The woman then continued to walk around the restroom and then said "give me the baby" and grabbed the child's arm and repeated the phrase.

The mother pushed the woman away and ran out of the restroom to alert security.

The suspect was seen leaving the store in a black livery vehicle.   She was described as Hispanic, 5'5" tall with long blonde hair wearing a blue jacket, yellow shirt and a multi-colored skirt.  No arrest had been made by Saturday night.
