SWAT Team enters Scotch Plains townhouse after reports of robbery at TD Bank

- A Union County SWAT team was called to “The Reserve” townhouse complex off Route 22 after earlier reports of a bank robbery at the TD Bank at the corner of Park Ave. and Mountain Ave. on Sunday afternoon.

A resident in the complex who requested anonymity reported the team entered a unit in the 300 block of Donato Circle at approximately 4:25 p.m. after a heavily armed police presence for more than an hour. Of the police presence, she said, "These guys aren't messin' around; big guns."

According published reports, Scotch Plains police requested mutual aid units mobilize to the Donato Circle location in connection to a bank robbery at 245 Park Avenue, the address of the TD Bank.  The reports also indicated the suspect matched the description of the suspect in a robbery of a TD bank that occurred in Bridgewater earlier on Sunday.
