New Jersey Turnpike toll booth robbed

State police in New Jersey are seeking a couple wanted in the armed robbery of a toll booth on the New Jersey Turnpike.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. Monday at Interchange 15W in Newark.  Police say that after arriving at the toll plaza, the male driver got out of the car, and then allegedly pressed a knife to the attendant and demanded the cash drawer. The suspect then got back into the car and the couple drove towards Interstate 280 west.

The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic man, approximately 5’9” and 200 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing military style face paint and a zip-up, camouflage sweatshirt with maroon colored accents. The female passenger is described as Hispanic, in her 20s and was last seen wearing a yellow shirt or dress with a multi-colored tassel.

The suspect car is described as a black, newer model Toyota Camry with no license plate.
