Police officer's dash cam captures meteor streaking across the sky

- The Portland, Maine, Police Department posted an incredible video of a meteor streaking across the night sky.

In the Facebook post, the department revealed that the video was captured on Sgt. Tim Farris' cruiser's dashboard camera at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday.

Apparently, Farris was parked in front of a fire station looking for speeders when he suddenly saw a much different kind of "speeder."

Farris can be heard on the video gasping, "Oh my God," as the brilliant celestial phenomenon lights up the sky. "You never know what you are going to see on duty," department wrote in the post.
