Westfield students make memories at Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

Five teams of Westfield youngsters mingled with students from around the globe when they traveled to Michigan last weekend to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.

Two of the teams, a Division 1 group and a Division 2 group from Edison Intermediate School, placed 11th overall in the competition for their respective problems, according to Bernadette Murphy, one of the coordinators for the Odyssey program in town.

Westfield students were housed in Michigan State University dorms during their stay.

"The Westfield teams were in dorms with teams from China, Togo and Canada, as well as other countries and states," said Murphy. "Many teams exchanged contact information with the new friends from around the country and the world."
