One arrested, one injured in Dallas hotel standoff

A suspect was taken into custody and another person injured after a shooting and standoff at a Far North Dallas hotel on Monday.

The standoff, involving Dallas SWAT, started at 2 p.m. at the Wyndham Hotel in the 7800 block of Alpha Road. It ended two and a half hours later with the suspect in Dallas PD custody.

Police said there was one person shot and taken from the scene in an ambulance to a nearby hospital. That person had non-life threatening injuries.

It was not immediately known what caused the shooting and standoff. Parts of the hotel tower were evacuated during the standoff.
