PHOTOS: Fireworks and lightning share 4th of July sky over Minnesota

- Fourth of July storms pushed across parts of Minnesota, putting fireworks in question. But as the saying goes, the show must go on.

The strongest storms were in a pocket of northwestern Minnesota, but spectators in the Twin Cities were treated to twice the fire in the sky. Lightning shared the sky with fireworks as most Twin Cities metro displays got underway.

Fox 9 viewers shared their photos of the fireworks (and lightning) on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

More storms before a beautiful weekend

A few Wednesday morning rumbles give way to a hot and steamy afternoon with highs in the 90s and a dew point near 70. Those conditions will lead to some isolated storms late Wednesday afternoon and evening. The weather stays hot and sticky for Thursday with strong afternoon storms, then comfortable and sunny 80s for Friday and  the weekend! Get the Fox 9 Weather App
