Man wanted after leaving infant son in burning apartment, police say

- A 21-year old father is accused of fleeing the scene of his burning apartment while leaving his infant son inside on Wednesday.

Rodney Williston Jr. reportedly left his apartment at 2615 Lanecrest Dr. on Wednesday evening after an accidental fire. CMPD and Charlotte Fire responded but according to a police report, Williston Jr. "fled the scene."

The exact reason is unknown but Williston Jr. has an outstanding warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He's had multiple run-ins with the law in the past -- including assault on a female, battery of an unborn child and assault by strangulation.

The infant was treated for minor, possible internal injuries.
