On this edition of "Valerie's New Jersey" a lifestyle and entertainment podcast, Valerie chats with, well, another Valerie about her exciting new musical about to open in New Brunswick. Listen to their conversation here.

Take the imaginative story of a long gone legendary explorer and a single mom video game music composer living in modern day Brooklyn, one Broadway writer and two members of the group GrooveLily and you've got Ernest Shackleton Loves Me, a new musical coming to the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick.

Ernest Shackleton and his infamous Antarctic expedition that went awry is one of the great stories of survival and perseverance of all time.

The 100th anniversary of his expedition is taking place this year and so a love story bridging the eras is a perfect way to celebrate his incredible journey.

Ernest Shackleton Loves Me runs April 22-May 17 at the George Street Playhouse. Book by Joe DiPietro, music by Brendan Millburn and lyrics by Valerie Vigoda. Starring Valerie Vigoda and Wade McCollum, directed by Lisa Peterson.
