MCSO: 6 children on school bus that was hit by truck that drove through stop sign

AVONDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Authorities say six children were on a school bus when it was hit by a pickup truck that drove through a stop sign on Tuesday morning.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, six children on the school bus were not injured when it was hit by a pickup truck near Southern and El Mirage.

The children have been released to their parents.

The driver of the school bus was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.

At this time, impairment and speed are not factors in the crash.
