LAPD pursuit of possible stolen car through the Long Beach area

- Units from the LAPD were in pursuit of a possible stolen car that began on the 405 freeway in the Carson area and made its way through the streets of Long Beach before the suspect was arrested after a bystander helped stop the chase.


The pursuit began at 9:47pm in the area of 220th Street and Vermont Avenue with the suspect driving at high speeds on surface streets. At one moment, the suspect even drove through a mall parking lot before returning to city streets before he was stopped by an oncoming motorist who got out -leaving his car in the path of the suspect vehicle.

The suspect then surrendered without incident around 10:10pm.
