No serious injuries after Vermont Amtrak train derails

There were no immediate reports of serious injuries or loss of life after an Amtrak train derailed in Vermont Monday, the railroad operator tweeted Monday.

Train 55 was traveling in Vermont when it derailed. Photos posted to Twitter by Brian Bell show individuals being helped off the train, which can be seen off the tracks. His tweets mention the train may have hit a rock formation near the tracks.

Published reports several passengers were being evaluated for minor injuries.
