Continuing a time-honored White House tradition, President Donald Trump pardoned the national Thanksgiving turkey during a Rose Garden ceremony Tuesday.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the lighthearted event and featured two turkeys raised in Minnesota named Wishbone and Drumstick.

The turkeys were delivered to D.C. on Monday by the National Turkey Federation.

Wishbone and Drumstick got to spend a cozy night at the Willard InterContinental Washington before the ceremony.

They will be heading to Virginia Tech University live out their lives in the "Gobblers Rest" exhibit.

The White House says the first family will also donate two packaged turkeys from a Pennsylvania farm to non-profit Martha's Table in D.C.

Last year, turkeys Tater and Tot were pardoned by President Barack Obama.
