Police: Man pistol-whipped, kidnapped, and forced to drive to bank

It was the end of a very scary and violent situation at a bank in Covington for the victim of a kidnapping Wednesday.

Police officers were seen surrounding the Wells Fargo located at 11160 Highway 142 N in Covington just after 3 p.m. Covington Police said the man was pistol-whipped, kidnaped, and then forced to go to the bank once the suspects discovered he had a bank card.

Once inside, police said the 31-year-old victim was able to alert the bank staff who called the police. Three people were taken into custody.

The victim was injured but is expected to recover.

The names of those arrested have not yet been released.

The area immediately surrounding the bank came to a complete standstill as officers surrounded the bank. Pictures and video sent to FOX 5 News show officers behind vehicles with guns drawn.

Police said the kidnapping happened outside of the city limits and they are working with other law enforcement agencies on the case.
