Starbucks unveils frosty pink Cherry Blossom Frappuccino

- Starbucks has unveiled a colorful ode to spring in the form of a brand new Frappuccino.

The Cherry Blossom Frappuccino is a nod to the Japanese Sakura trees with delicate pink flowers that bloom early in the season. In Japan, cherry blossoms are a symbol of renewal and simplicity. Their appearance marks a time for celebrating new beginnings as the weather warms.

This is the first time Starbucks is offering the Cherry Blossom blended beverage in the U.S., but Japanese customers have been enjoying a version of the drink since 2010.

In the U.S., Starbucks' slurp-able interpretation of a cherry blossom entails a "blend of sweet strawberries and cream with white chocolate sauce and matcha (green tea powder) drizzle, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha."
