Bob's a Corpse, A Judge Now Has Shame in His Game and Another Week of Life in Detroit

Posted: Updated:

There's never a lack of news in this town. And to prove it, here is your week in review.

A Wayne County judge on Monday said there was no shame in his game. Then his naked shower scene photograph went viral. By Friday, Circuit Court Judge Wade McCree said in fact there was shame in his game and issued an apology to everybody but the woman he sent it to.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing remained AWOL. We're told he has be recuperating from colon surgery for more than a month now. First we were told it was dental discomfort. People begin to wonder if there is some "Weekend at Bernie's" conspiracy being perpetrated here.

There were the usual Detroit Police boners – squad cars being held hostage, a gunman escaping from a police van with the help of a handcuff skeleton key kept in his underwear , news that women were not warned about a serial rapist until he allegedly raped and shot a third woman in front of her baby. Suffice it to say the department is in need of an overhaul.

But what about Bob?

Beleaguered Wayne County Executive Bob Ficano remains under the magnifying glass of the FBI. Hoping that the Feds can pin nothing on him, Bob continues to try and push the boulder up the mountain and remake his image as a credible leader.

It's not working. President Obama dissed Bob when he came to Wayne County last week and wouldn't let him in the door.

Bob recently showed up to a local politician's fundraiser. I'm told everyone there was trying to avoid a photograph with Bob.

Once the most prodigious fundraiser in Michigan politics, Bob's PAC raised zilch last quarter, according to filings released this week.

If the old saying is true – that money is the lifeblood of a politician – then there's no other way to say it. Bob's a corpse.
