ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Officials say very small earthquakes are to blame for several loud booms that rattled residents in a northern New Jersey town.

Won-Young Kim tells The Daily Record of Parsippany ( ) the largest was 1.1. Kim also says there's evidence of another earthquake at 1:58 a.m. Wednesday and possibly one at 4 a.m.

Police say the quakes were enough to cause some residents to become nervous and come outside.
