TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — State authorities say eight
Trenton men face gun trafficking charges stemming from numerous sales that
occurred near two local funeral homes.
"Operation Gravedigger," a joint operation by the state police and the
Trenton Police Department, began in March and targeted illegal gun sales in the
Law enforcement officers seized 16 weapons during the operation, including
five assault rifles, five handguns, three shotguns and three rifles. All of the
weapons were loaded or included ammunition.
Authorities say the alleged gun sellers were not part of an organization
group and acted independently. They say each man sold one or more guns to an
undercover detective or operative.
The eight men remained jailed Tuesday and were each being held on $100,000
