Kacie McDonnell joined the FOX 29 news team in August 2012, as the Fox 29 Morning News and Good Day Philadelphia Traffic Reporter. During football season, you’ll find her reporting from the Eagles’ sideline at Lincoln Financial Field and also hosting “The Trend,” an up-to-the-minute look at what everyone is talking about on the web. You can even catch her filling in as co-anchor of “Good Day Philadelphia.”
Prior to joining FOX 29, Kacie worked for QVC doing demonstrations of beauty products. She also served as a spokeswoman for Fiat of Maple Shade.
Kacie graduated in May 2012 from Villanova University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Specializations in Journalism and Media Production. At Villanova, Kacie was a Curvey Scholar and a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
In 2008, Kacie was honored to hold the title of Miss Teen Pennsylvania International. With a platform of teen abstinence and a partnership with “Silver Ring Thing,” she went on to be 1st Runner Up at the national competition in Chicago.
For the past several years Kacie has been active in raising awareness for Pediatric Cancer through partnerships with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Alex's Lemonade Stand. She is also a supporter of our active duty military men and women and their families.
A six hour newscast can be a lot of work, but it’s not all work and no play! Kacie has been fortunate enough to travel to six foreign countries, including Greece, where she spent the summer in 2010. As a former hockey player, Kacie is both an athlete and a sports fan. She enjoys cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers and the city’s other sports teams. In her spare time, Kacie loves to cook, bake, and try new recipes. She enjoys listening to hip hop and country music and attending concerts. She is a TV series binge watcher, occasional fisherwoman, and wishes she could be a better golfer. Hailing from the small town of Pottsville, PA, Kacie loves living and working in her home state.
