AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices rise slightly

Posted: Updated:

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing slightly higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.65, up a penny from last week. That's also higher than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.50.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose by a penny to $3.73. That's also higher than the national average from a year ago, which was $3.58.

Analysts say the higher prices are mostly due to rising crude oil prices, refinery issues across the nation and simmering tensions in the Middle East.
