No matter what happens in life, it is never too late to start over.
Senior Pastor Larry Manley, PhD, suffered from 35 years of drug addiction, as well as homelessness, prison and cancer, a combination of circumstances that would be enough to make anyone lose hope. This was not the case for Dr. Manley, who took control of his life and found his way back to prosperity and joy.
Through a regiment of what he calls "spiritual maintenance," Dr. Manley was able to overcome these devastating situations and bring joy back into his life. In his new book, Filling My Life with Joy: A Guide to the Better You, Dr. Manley shares the steps he took to instill self worth and positivity back into his life, encouraging others to do the same.
"There were two things that guided me to the rediscovery of my life purpose: having passion for a particular thing or effort, and finding a driving force that would take me further than I was able to take myself," Dr. Manley says. "I needed and found a spiritual connection."
Filling My Life with Joy covers important topics like how to pursue and achieve success, what spiritual maintenance is and how to achieve it, and the idea that overcoming drug addiction and other seemingly hopeless situations is absolutely possible.
Through his book, Dr. Manley has one ultimate goal: to remind readers that finding something to positive to do, love and hope for is the key to overcoming any hurdle in life and will ultimately make room for joy.
"Learn the difference and win," Dr. Manley says. "Even when life is at its darkest, joy and fulfillment are there for those who want it."
