JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a
man suspected of shooting a bystander outside a bar where Jersey City Mayor
Jerramiah Healy was attending a campaign event.
Saturday evening's shooting may have been a drug deal gone bad.
Police Capt. Edgar Martinez tells The Jersey Journal (http://bit.ly/1005agP ) 24-year-old Rahmed
Jones told officers he was selling Ecstasy pills to two men when they tried to
run away without paying.
Police say Jones opened fire, shooting the woman, who had gone outside for a
cigarette, in the chest.
Healey visited the woman in the hospital.
She's in stable condition.
