Kids' Silly Tricks More Risky Than They Realize

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

It's hard to keep up with every trend kids are trying.

We warned you about the "cinnamon challenge" a few months ago. Basically, it involves trying to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon without any water.

Kids may try it for a laugh. But what seems like child's play may actually be dangerous.

The cinnamon game can cause serious health problems, such as permanent breathing difficulties, collapsed lungs, even asthma.

But that's not where this story ends. There's more than one silly trick, and many are not just silly.

Do you know the "chubby bunny" game, or "bottle rocket wars?" Chances are you have no idea.

Part of the problem is that they're plastered all over the Internet, so these games catch on quickly.

See what kids are risking, the dangers in what seems like a little harmless fun, and how to stay ahead of the curve to keep your children safe.

Plus, hear why kids who have tried the tricks say they'll never do them again in this special report from FOX 29's Kerry Barrett.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
