PHILADELPHIA -

Police now believe one man is responsible for four rapes in the Germantown area since March.

The man was caught on tape just before a May 19 attack on a 15-year-old girl and seen again leaving the crime scene, police said.

"A dangerous situation," said Capt. John Darby, of the Special Victims Unit. "We have a guy with a gun, young female victims. You just can't predict what they're gonna do. We gotta get this guy off the streets."

Investigators were at the Lonnie Young Rec Center on Monday looking for clues in the Sunday morning rape of a 17-year-old girl, again by a man with a gun on the 6000 block of Wister Street.

"He pushes her inside and at the entrance gate he sexually assaults her," Darby said.

Eulis Brown owns an iron works company across from the rec center. He installed the surveillance cameras to help protect his wife and daughter who work here. Those cameras drew the attention of detectives Monday.

"I have my wife here, and now I have my daughter here, and the workers are not here most of the time. They're on the street," the worried father said.

"Now I have to look around at my surroundings. Gotta be careful you know," said his daughter Malayna.

Police say the suspect also struck on the 900 block of East Chelten Avenue on April 23, when he was caught on surveillance video riding a bicycle. He got off his bike, crossed the street and approached the girl as she was walking home from a friend's house. He threatened the teen with a gun and then assaulted her in an alley, detectives said.

The other attack was just around the corner, on the 1100 block of East Price Street, on March 19. The victim in that case was just 12-years-old.

"Our children and our women should be careful," said Tina Brown, who lines on East Price Street. "Always stay with somebody and be mindful of their surroundings."

"I hope they catch this guy who's doing that dirty act and put him away," Brown added.

Police are still waiting on DNA from each of the rapes to try and link these assaults conclusively. They say the suspect has worn a mask in some cases and in that one case rode a mountain bike. They say he may be stalking his victims and lying in wait before he attacks them.

Darby recommends that women and young girls travel together and that they call police if they notice anything suspicious.
