2nd Gunman Sought After Police-Involved Shooting In NJ

Posted: Updated:

The search is on right now for one of the gunmen who police say was involved in a shootout with officers early Wednesday morning in Salem County.

A team of officers is searching a wooded area this morning in Carney's Point for one of two gunmen who police say opened fire at them.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. near South Pennsville-Auburn Road and Hollywood Avenue.

One of the two men was shot in the face by police. No officers were hit.

The other gunman was taken to the hospital, but his condition has not been released.

The shootout location is on a side road, just over the Delaware Memorial Bridge where a lot of the hotels and truck stops are located. Interstate 295 is on the other side of the wooded area where police are searching.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley had more details in this live report from the scene Wednesday morning.
