Young Mayor Seeks Re-election

Posted: Updated:

Robert "Bobby" Tufts will run for re-election as Mayor of the town of Dorset. Bobby is only four years old.

The town of Dorset has a population of 28 and no formal city government. Every year, all the names are put into a box during the Taste of Dorset Festival, and the person who's name gets drawn becomes the mayor for the next year. People can stuff the box with their candidate of choice, as long as they pay one dollar per vote.

Bobby became mayor last year, when he was three.

As mayor, Bobby has generated a lot of buzz for his town. He greets tourists, takes them on hikes, and has placed ice cream on top of the food pyramid.

Bobby wrote handed out his campaign card recently that read, "I would love to be your Mayor as much as I love Sophie." Sophie is Bobby's girlfriend.
