A recent case of a drug sniffing dog being threatened by a man during his arrest has led to the possibility of a new law being passed by Governor Christie.  Dano's Law has a penalty of 5 years in prison and a fine for threatening a police dog. 

Kate got the chance to talk to the Captain involved in the original arrest and he says that he is all for the passing of this new law.  He emphasizes that this is about protecting all kinds of officers.  And, Kate got a firsthand look at how Dano and his human partner work together to catch the bad guys!

    The cancer rate among 9/11 first responders and workers has doubled. 2,500 police officers, firefighters and other workers in the area who were exposed to toxins from the collapse of the World Trade Center have been diagnosed with the deadly disease. This information was released by Mount Sinai Hospital's World Trade Center Health Program, which tracks the health of 37,000 first responders.

    Living under the Bayonne Bridge hasn't exactly been picture perfect in recent years. Lately, there have been unexpected damages to local resident’s homes due to the ongoing bridge construction.     Governor Chris Christie recently called for a special legislative session in that State House in Trenton regarding bail reform.Christie made remarks prior to this session, where he noted that the current system is in a crisis. Therefore, the need for bail reform is now! The Senates voted 30-0 to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot.
