Booker Under Fire - My9 New Jersey

Booker Under Fire

Posted: Updated:
Newark, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Kate takes a look at Cory Booker, the national celebrity.  Just look at his rock star bus, his 1.4 million Twitter followers and NOW he's the official Democratic candidate for New Jersey's Special Senate Election in October.  But does he have the guts to stand up to the criticism he's getting from everyone including liberal pundits?  They're asking whether or not he's a real progressive and if he's in the pocket of Silicone Valley billionaires who have contributed not only to his campaign but also to his tech-startup, Waywire.com.

He's even been called out for not disclosing millions in income related to the company.  But, Cory doesn't seem to see that as a cue to step down, well that is, until he becomes a Senator, at which point it would be illegal for him to be on the board.

In fact, the video-hosting site waywire has also come under-fire for anti-Semitic videos produced by a clansman David Duke. And, even more criticism is to come.

Back in the studio, the Chasers debate over whether Cory is ready to handle the blood-sport that is running for Federal office.

A sweetener cheaper than sugar but just as sweet is now in many food and drink products at the grocery store.  It's called high fructose corn syrup.  Some nutritionists, like dietician Dawn Sharp, claim it’s pretty bad for you.

The town of Elmwood Park relies on about 75 to 100 volunteer firefighters for emergencies.  Russell Fenn, IV is one of those volunteer firefighters. He was driving the department’s only ladder truck and crashed it into utility poles.  Police charged Fenn with driving under the influence and said that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
