PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Police in Paterson say three people have been wounded in an early morning gun battle.
Witnesses tells The Record of Woodland Park they heard at least 16 shots being fired early Friday morning.
Det. Lt. Patrick Murray says that two men and woman were injured in the gunfire, which erupted early Friday morning at a large party on Paterson's 12th Avenue.
Police have not yet determined if the three people who were wounded were targeted or if they were bystanders.
Police say a 19-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the jaw, shoulder and buttocks. A 24-year-old man was treated and released for an unspecified gunshot wound. And a 23-year-old woman refused treatment after being grazed on the back by a bullet.
