Christie Looking Presidential? - My9 New Jersey

Christie Looking Presidential?

Posted: Updated:

Sibile chases the story about Governor Christie’s weight.  She takes a look at his February lap-ban procedure and sees how his health is doing about 6-months later.  While the Governor never says how much he weighs, it is estimated to be 300-350 pounds.

Sibile took this story a step further and met up with a young “Christie-look-a-like”, Mark Reynolds to discuss the challenges of being overweight.

Reynolds said that some of the easiest tasks for people can be the hardest on somebody who is overweight.  This included just bending down to feed his cat, vacuuming, washing his car, and even just walking.

Sibile then compared Christie to former President Taft who was 5’11 and 335 pounds.  Christie is also 5’11 and is estimated to be very close to the same weight.  So,  if we’ve had an overweight President before, can we do it again?

Well, back in the studio the chasers debate the topic of weight in a Presidential candidate.  Some feel that this shouldn’t matter, and others feel that it’s a health concern and the leader of the free world needs to set a good example.

A sweetener cheaper than sugar but just as sweet is now in many food and drink products at the grocery store.  It's called high fructose corn syrup.  Some nutritionists, like dietician Dawn Sharp, claim it’s pretty bad for you.

The town of Elmwood Park relies on about 75 to 100 volunteer firefighters for emergencies.  Russell Fenn, IV is one of those volunteer firefighters. He was driving the department’s only ladder truck and crashed it into utility poles.  Police charged Fenn with driving under the influence and said that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
