NJ Cops Cashing In? - My9 New Jersey

NJ Cops Cashing In?

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

It looks like some New Jersey law enforcement officials are raking in the dough, some even earning a higher yearly salary than the state’s Governor.

One Trenton Police Officer made $189,000 last year beating out Governor Christie’s salary of $175,000 and there is evidence of him sleeping on the job.

Currently, Trenton has a murder rate of 33 people for the year one of the deadliest years in history and some say that these officers are overworked, and short staffed so all officers are forced to work over time.

Hightstown Police Director James LeTellier says, “When people look at it they have to understand that it’s often cheaper to pay the overtime than to hire the additional personnel.  You hire additional personnel and then you’re talking about pension contributions, you talk about health “issues” benefits, uniforms and training.” So the additional overtime is how these cops are cashing in.

Police Director Rivera with Trenton Mayor Tony Mack requested 75 additional cops from Governor Christie and were denied. So until more cops are put on the force, current police officers will continue to make more money protecting our cities and they are also making the sacrifice of working numerous hours of overtime.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
