Making It To The Major Leagues

Posted: Updated:

A lot of guys dream of playing baseball for the Yankees – where baseball is just part of the appeal. There are also first class flights, fancy meals and tales of beautiful women! But the path to glory isn’t always easy.

Trenton Thunder General Manager, Will Smith, talked about what it takes to get on the baseball path to greatness and Pat Venditte, Trenton Thunder’s ambidextrous pitcher said, “It’s by no means glamorous, but at the same time, it’s a fun way to make a living.”

Tyler Austin, a cancer survivor and outfielder for the Trenton Thunder shared his struggles and path to make it big.  He says that when it comes to staying focused on his dreams of playing in the major leagues, “There’s no reason to have a plan B because it distracts from plan A.”

While Trenton Thunder may be part of the Yankees minor leagues, the team still comes equipped with all the bells and whistles.  This includes a state of the art stadium, weight room and work out facility, locker rooms, and eatery on site.

And when it comes to the games, aside from the players, the fan favorites definitely include the team’s energetic mascots and the cutest bat dog around—Derby!

Some residents of West New York, New Jersey are happy with their beautiful views of Manhattan, but aren’t too happy about the noise that is coming over from the city. Residents who live at the Hudson Club apartment complex at Port Imperial say that the music that reportedly comes from a new concert hall at Pier 97 across the Hudson River in New York City is affecting their quality of life.
