Roger Buchko can build anything with his hands, and if anyone questions that, they simply need to look at his mailbox. Buchko has made a giant Smith & Wesson .44 caliber revolver as his mailbox. The replica is 10 feet by 5 feet and made with wood and PC piping.
Some critics claim the mailbox is telling the public to take up arms. Buchko is pro-gun rights and owns his own guns, but says he had no agenda in making this mailbox, and doesn’t like being roped into other people’s political agendas.
“I didn’t build it to make anybody mad or make a political statement or anything," Buchko says. "It’s just I saw one on the Internet when I was surfing the Internet, and I like guns. And I’m capable of making one so I made one.”
Buchko’s mastery of carpentry doesn’t end there. As Christmas decorations, he has go-karts on the roof of his house. He had originally built the go-karts for his nephew and since has recycled them as decorations.
In his garage, there are half-scale motorcycle choppers, trikes, and a 100-mile-an-hour remote controlled dragster with a skull for a driver that’s eleven feet long.
One Chasing New Jersey reporter thought the gun mailbox was the best deterant Buchko could have to keep someone from breaking into his house.
