NY Fashion Week - My9 New Jersey

NY Fashion Week

Posted: Updated:
New York, New York (My9NJ) -

How does a Jersey Girl do fashion week? Well, she walks the runway with made in New York designers.

New York designers have been working this year to stop fast fashion, which they consider any clothing made outside America and sold cheaply at chain stores like Forever 21 and Strawberry. However, this issue can get lost in the glitz and glamour of New York Fashion Week.

Nathalie Kraynina, an upcoming designer in Brooklyn, is part of the made in New York movement to stop unfair wages for clothing manufacturing and bringing jobs back to America. The fashion industry has lost a lot of jobs in the last 40 years, but the fashion industry is still really important to the NYC economy.  Just last year alone the tax revenue was $2 Billion.

Nathalie is convinced that clothing can can be affordable, well made, and local. “But most importantly,” she says, “you must love what you wearing.”

Behind the scenes, there is exceptional pressure to get everything perfect. Models have less than a minute to sell buyers the designers latest styles. Fashion is a competitive business. Designers during fashion week, mix, mingle, and sell clothing a season in advance. So emerging made in New York designers like Nathalie and Kaci Head must not only produce exceptional clothing, but at competitive prices.

Check out their latest designs (http://nathaliekraynina.com & http://www.brooklynfashionleague.com), and stop fast fashion- buy local.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
