Chris Christie In Newark - My9 New Jersey

Chris Christie In Newark

Posted: Updated:
Newark, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Chris Christie was in Newark for the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the Teal Center, the new center at the Essex County Tech School. Though Mayor Cory Booker was not present for the Teal Center’s ribbon cutting, he and Christie cut the ribbon at the Teacher’s Village Project the previous day.

Christie was introduced by Joe Di Vincenzo, the Essex County executive. Outside of the Teal Center, there was a sign that read “Democrats don’t vote for Chris Christie”. Di Vincenzo commented on the sign by saying “Smart Democrats vote for Christie.”

Whether or not you agree with Di Vincenzo, there is no denying that Christie is making an effort to blur the political party line. Christie has been working on many bipartisan projects, especially in Essex County.

The Palisades Interstate Parkway is getting a facelift and many drivers say that it’s long overdue! It’s been over 20 years since the roadway has gotten any cosmetic work and the massive potholes and cracks throughout the road make it a nightmare for commuters. The construction is an $11.2 million project that is completely state funded.
