More Big Name Support For Lonegan

Posted: Updated:

Another big-name Republican rolled into New Jersey to endorse Steve Lonegan for US Senate. Texas Governor Rick Perry joined Lonegan for a town hall on ObamaCare, but seemed more focused on spouting his political platform than talking on ObamaCare, which he strongly opposes.

Perry said he was against shutting down congress to block ObamaCare, but when pressed for answers on what should be done to get the government back up in order, he simply took the opportunity to blame the shut-down on Democrats.

“This was the 16th, 17th time we had a government shut-down, I think since Reagan’s times. No one is happy about it, I think they can all stand in a circle in Washington DC and point to the left and say it’s their fault. We don’t have that privilege in the states; we are required by a constitutional amendment to have balanced budgets in most states, I should say. I think that is what the American people want. I guess they got their point over that they are both all big boys and girls and nobody blinked and now the government shut down.” He said.

In fact, one thing that seemed to be noticeably missing from this “ObamaCare” town hall was an actual discussion of ObamaCare and possible alternatives in light of a government shut-down that’s hemorrhaging dollars out of our economy.

Perry has said that a 2016 Presidential run is "a very viable" option for him and he made it a point to discuss the successes in his state under his leadership.

“In my home state we led the creation of jobs in this country. 30% of the jobs created in America in that last 10 years have been in my home state.” He said.

Lonegan also expressed his support for what Perry has done in the Lone Star State. “Because of this Governor, under his leadership, Texas has led the nation in economic development. Texas is a model for the entire country for economic growth. Texas is what New Jersey was 50-60 years ago, a growth state. We need to be a growth state in every one of the 50 states, we’re not going to do it under Barack Obama or Cory Booker’s failed financial policy.” Lonegan said.

Even with three of the top Republican contenders for 2016 including Governor Christie and Rand Paul in his circle, does Lonegan stand a chance against Cory Booker?

Sadly, Jeter the pit bull puppy is missing. While dogs go missing all the time, there are two specific things that distinguish this story from others. First, several witnesses say Jeter didn't wonder off and that they saw Jeter get taken. Second, the community has rallied in a huge way to help find the loveable pup.

Empty spaces are popping up all over Atlantic City with the closing of three major casinos: Revel, Trump Plaza, and Showboat. Even with all of this going on, the city is still trying to use eminent domain to take away the home of an Atlantic City local legend, Piano Man Charlie Birnbaum. Birnbaum has tuned pianos for icons like: Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, and John Legend. He's been a resident of Atlantic City in the same home for over 50 years.
