NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -
An examination of reports by the NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets shows that over the last five years there were serious cleanliness concerns at supermarkets across New York City.
There were 12 serious violations including mouse droppings and food gunk on cold cut slicers at the Whole Foods market on Columbus Ave on the Upper West Side, according to the New York World, a publication by Columbia School of Journalism.
Trader Joe's had the fewest violations among grocery store chains.
The dirtiest was found to be Associated supermarket which had a total of 739 deficiencies among its 130 stores.
